Quick Guide
This quick guide gives you a short overview on how to use Smart Sound Recorder. There is very little configuration you need to do to start working with the program.
Follow the steps described below to configure Smart Sound Recorder:
Run Smart Sound Recorder
Invoke Smart Sound Recorder settings dialog
(by double click on the tray icon, by selecting Settings menu item from
the tray menu or by using Hotkeys).

Configure Device and Input Pin. Usually it
is correct to select your sound card as a device and selected Input Pin
should correspond to source of sound you intend to record( for example Microphone
to record from microphone, Stereo Mix to record sound played by any software
etc).

Choose Format Settings to save recorded audio
file.

Select a directory to save audio file by
pressing Browse button in Target File Location (or leave it default).

Enter name of the audio file (default file name is date and time in the format yyyy-mm-dd-hh-mm-ss).
Configure Silence settings (or leave default
values).

Set Maximum time to record (or leave default
value Set Maximum time to record (or leave default value – 0, that
is unlimited recording duration).

If you want to permanently use these setting
press Set Default button to have your settings saved.

Press Record button to start
recording sound. Alternatively you can select Recording->Start menu item
from the tray menu or use Hotkey to start recording.

If you want to pause recording for a while
press Pause button. Alternatively you can select Recording->Pause
or use Hotkey to pause recording.![]()
If you want to continue paused recording
press Resume button. Alternatively you can select Recording->Resume
or use Hotkey to resume recording.
If you want to stop recording completely
press Stop button. Alternatively you can select Recording->Stop
or use Hotkey to stop recording.
